The spring of 2017 brought many improvements to the mastering loop of our Neve mixer. The Chameleon Labs stereo VCA compressor got taken out and replaced with this very sweet API piece.

The pair of EQP and the API live in the switchable mastering loop of the Neve 8816/8804 mixer. This makes it super simple to press one button and bring in a favorite combination. All of the inputs and outputs come up in the patchbay so the signal path can easily be augmented or reduced.

The API has a "vintage" feedback mode that sounds completely different, much more relaxed than typical compressor/limiter boxes. The sale price of this piece increased by over $400 a few days after we placed our order for this one, we got in on the old price just in the nick of time.
