BUGERA 1960 INFINIUM GUITAR AMPLIFIER

Bugera 1960 Tube Guitar Amplifier

This head is rated at 150 watts of output, it's TOO LOUD! But fortunately it has a magical option, you can replace the power tubes with much lower output models. Not only that you can run it with only two power tubes instead of all four, this cuts the output power even more.

Middle pair of power tubes pulled, outer pair replaced with JJ 6V6
After removing a pair of power tubes and replacing the remaining pair with 6V6 the amp is more like a hot 20-watt model and is much more useable.

With this lower output power you can really turn it up a lot to achieve the classic Marshall vintage tone. Through a Marshall 4x12 it's still very loud but the tone is really awesome, a great barking midrange character.

This head regularly sells for $399 through mail order internet stores, it's one of the amp bargains of the century in my opinion. The sound is great, the build is heavy duty and the overall finish is excellent quality.
